Christian Care Ministry holds an employee volunteer event to benefit several community non-profit organizations

MELBOURNE, Fla. —-Christian Care Ministry/Medi-Share, the nation’s leading health care sharing ministry, held an on-site volunteer opportunity for its employees this week. Care packs were assembled for Agape Women’s Center, Sharing Center of Central Brevard, Lestonnac Free Clinic, and South Brevard Sharing Center. Cards of encouragement were also made.

Christian Care Ministry employees are given 24 hours a year to volunteer at the non-profit of their choice during normal working hours. Throughout the year employees go into the community to volunteer at schools, churches, shelters, and numerous other local non-profits.

For the first time since the origin of the program, Christian Care Ministry brought the service opportunity onsite, and more than fifty employees joined together to work together for the good of the community.

Many hands made light the work of assembling hundreds of care packs for four non-profits where Christian Care Ministry volunteers had previously served.

“Our volunteer program gives our dedicated employees the opportunity to strengthen the amazing ministries that daily serve the hurting of our community. Today’s Onsite Mission PTO helped us see the one big, wonderful team we’re all a part of here at CCM.”- Bill Adams, Christian Care Ministry Chaplain Mission PTO champion.

Hygiene packs were assembled for the Sharing Center of Brevard and the South Brevard Sharing Center for distribution to the homeless. The 200 kits including a comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, and wipes, will be distributed to those in need throughout Brevard County.

Agape Women’s Center requested a special cup, hair clip, and lip balm to be distributed to women in their network. Agape actively supports the sanctity of human life in the Brevard County community

The Lestonnac Free Clinic, which provides free medical care and eyeglasses to low-income and under-insured in southern California through their mobile clinic, a project the CCM community raised money in 2021 to help fund. Employees assembled 500 wound care kits to be used to care for the homeless and others that the mobile medical clinic serves.

Lastly, employees wrote cards that will be given to various organizations in the community, like nursing homes, to encourage others.

“What a blessing to work at a company that encourages its employees to give back to the community. Christian Care Ministry not only encourages us, but they also provide opportunities for us to do so for non-profits local and across the nation. Today, I was blessed with helping pack first aid kits to be used for aiding the homeless in California, packing hygiene kits for a local center and I was even able to write some encouragement cards for residents in local nursing homes and rehab centers.”- Nancy Lafave, Christian Care Ministry Care Management Supervisor
