University Hospitals and ScriptDrop Collaborate for a Healthier Future

A UH investment and pilot aims to enhance patients' medication access

COLUMBUS, Ohio - October 11, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

ScriptDrop Inc. announced today a pilot collaboration with Cleveland-based University Hospitals (UH) to more seamlessly deliver medications directly to UH patients' homes. Through the use of ScriptDrop's proprietary web platform and API integration, as well as their robust courier coverage, UH patients will now be able to receive same-day delivery of medications from the system's central fill pharmacy in Warrensville Heights.

This alliance, led by two UH divisions - UH Ventures (the system's innovation and commercialization arm) and UH Meds (the system's outpatient pharmacy operations) - showcases the power of not only investing in innovative health care companies, but also providing a living laboratory to test and mature innovative solutions that can positively impact patient care. UH Ventures actively joins forces with external companies to identify ways to test ideas in UH's live environment and often invests to support the product's growth and adoption, as in this opportunity with ScriptDrop.

Neil Wyant, Vice President, Investments and Commercialization at UH Ventures, said, "We are delighted to have helped our UH Meds team kick off an initial alliance with ScriptDrop. The ability to invest in companies whose products our colleagues see value in is a testament to how we can leverage UH as a 'living laboratory' to test the future of health care."

ScriptDrop, a health technology company focused on prescription access, is dedicated to increasing medication access nationwide and improving long-term health outcomes for all patients. With their proprietary web platform and API integration, broad pharmacy network, robust courier coverage, and millions of deliveries to date, ScriptDrop has emerged as a valuable partner to pharmacies, health systems, pharmacy benefit managers, and life sciences companies.

"UH Meds is proud to be able to deploy consumer-centric services like medication delivery to our patients," said Kevin Cunningham, Senior Director of Pharmacy Services at UH Meds. "We need tools like ScriptDrop to not only make delivery more convenient for our employees and our patients, but also to improve patient outcomes by enabling better access and adherence to prescriptions."

Emily Muenchen, Vice President of Sales and Business Development at ScriptDrop, said, "We are proud to work with UH Meds and are grateful for UH Ventures' endorsement. This pilot will help University Hospitals' patients - from downtown Cleveland to the outer suburbs - receive their prescriptions in a timely fashion and stick to their doctor-prescribed therapies."

In joining UH Ventures' investment portfolio, ScriptDrop will be in the company of leading-edge healthcare organizations like Axuall, BIOHM, Ureteral Stent Co., Roundtrip, STAQ Pharma, and many others.
