On February 23, 2016, post-market, Bloomberg Business disclosed that the Brazilian authorities are obtaining a court order for the arrest of six Mineração SA executives for alleged negligence in the November 2015 dam failure that resulted in the deaths of at least 17 people.

On this news, BHP Billiton stock fell as much as $2.21 per share, or almost 10%, during intraday trading on February 24, 2016.
