TRAVEL EXPERT, “THE MILES GUY,” RELEASES TOP TEN LIST OF “HOLIDAY TRAVEL TIPS” TO MAKE

THAT HOLIDAY JOURNEY HOME THE “NORMAN MAILER PAINTING” IT SHOULD BE!

PRLog - Nov. 20, 2014 - LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Popular and much sought-after travel planner, “The Miles Guy,” (aka David Fleming), is gearing up for the holiday rush much like Santa in his workshop.  Fleming’s expertise, based on his know-how in the art of using frequent flyer miles, credit card points and upgrades, has attracted travelers around the country and world to assist with maneuvering their airline miles and points to create their ideal trip.

With the country’s busiest travel days of the year just moments away, Fleming’s “go-to” reputation has brought hundreds of holiday travel inquiries from harried people trying to book their holiday trips to manage the seasonal celebrations with families and loved ones.

In keep with the “holiday spirit,” Fleming has released his “Top Ten List” of airline and airport travel tips to assist travelers in their quests to reach their destinations with the least amount of stress.

1) As this is the busiest travel season, anticipate unusually heavy traffic to the   airport and leave early, plan your route, whether you’re driving, carpooling, or being dropped off.  UBER offers great deals to most airports and is ½ the cost of a taxicab;

2) Print your boarding passes online from your airline website 24 hours before your departure time, avoiding long check-in lines;

3) You may be randomly selected for TSA PreCheck (indicated on your ticket) and allows a much easier and quicker security check, but if not, you can apply for TSA PreCheck for $85.00 at www.tsa.gov/tsa-precheck/application-program.

4) Some airlines still allow for pre-boarding for families, disabled, and children, those include Southwest, Virgin America, Jet Blue & Alaska Air.

5) Pack as light as possible.  Check baggage weight allowances with airline and make sure your carry-on fits dimension requirements.  Traveling with only carry-on avoids the baggage check-in time and fees, as well as the long wait for luggage at your destination.

6) Try to secure your seat on the plane in advance.  Though some airlines charge for this, this confirms your place, preference and avoids getting bumped if the flight is oversold. You can check www.seatguru.com to see what seats offer the most comfort on your specific flight.

7) Holiday and winter weather always is a concern especially flying to and from the east. Check airport weather conditions to anticipate delays or cancellations.

8) Airport parking can be very costly on a daily basis, so check surrounding parking lot options that often offer discounts to airline, AARP and AAA members.

9) Traveling with families and kids can be a stressful process, so check with your airline regarding pre-boarding, bring the essentials to keep your child fed, diapered and occupied and print boarding passes ahead of time.

10) Use your left-over or soon to expire frequent flyer miles  & points to purchase a last minute flight or holiday gift for your friends and family with air travel and hotel stays, or merchandise.

So timely and unique in the service he provides, Los Angeles-based Fleming organizes each of his many client’s drawer of miles, points and credits, and works his magic in creating the most ideal trip based on the destinations and available window dates.  It appears to be an untapped art that “The Miles Guy” has taken to a whole new level of travel service that grew out of his love and passion for travel and his years of flying around the world both professionally and personally.

Fleming’s  popularity and expertise recently landed him on a number of television news shows where he offered viewers sage advice on what to look for and how to efficiently maneuver those credit card points and unused airline miles which, as he so aptly observes, “will expire!”
