Improving Economic Data Lifts Stocks

Stronger reports on the economy propelled stocks higher on Thursday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average inched closer to the 11,000 mark while the Nasdaq and Standard & Poor’s 500 stayed closer to the flat line.
