Brothers Preston and Tyson Dixon became addicted to drugs as teenagers. After turning their lives around in recovery centers, they have dedicated their lives to helping others do the same. Together, they lead Renaissance Ranch, which offers inpatient and outpatient substance abuse and mental health treatment in Utah and Idaho. With the help of their parents, they also run a free virtual Family Education Program that has an average attendance of over 800 family members each month. They are proud to announce the December 16 opening of their newest facility: The Refuge women’s outpatient center in Boise, Idaho.
In 2001, the Dixons opened their first Christian-based rehabilitation center for men near Salt Lake City, Utah. Since then, Renaissance Ranch has added additional centers for men and women in Utah and Idaho. The Ranch provides help for all levels of addiction, including detox, inpatient (residential), outpatient, sober living, recovery coaching, case management, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) services.
“Our newest intensive outpatient program for women fills a critical need in the Boise area,” said Preston Dixon, COO of Renaissance Ranch. “Whether women are seeking outpatient treatment as a follow-up to their residential treatment, or they are starting their recovery journey with outpatient services, we can meet these women where they are and provide the customized care they need. We also have the ability to refer them back and forth between our residential and outpatient program when needed.”
Women at the Refuge outpatient treatment center will participate in the 12-step recovery program and cognitive behavioral therapy to help them address issues that may be underlying their addiction. Because addiction thrives in isolation, the Refuge offers a therapeutic community approach with a “sisterhood” as the driving force of spiritual connection. It emphasizes sociality and positive relationships, helping participants build a social support network between themselves, staff members (many of whom are in recovery themselves), and fellow sisters undergoing treatment. Renaissance also offers a Lifetime Aftercare program and guarantee for success.
Renaissance Ranch is a CARF® Accredited and ASAM Level of Care Certified program. This elite credential for substance abuse treatment centers is the only one approved by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). It is awarded based on a center’s adherence to evidence-based treatment, its patient-centered approach, and its patient success rates. It also makes the Ranch eligible to serve patients with Medicaid and other insurances with selective provider options.
Renaissance Ranch strongly believes in strengthening families so they can support their loved ones in recovery. Family members of recovering Refuge patients can attend free online support sessions offered multiple days of the week. Participants also have the option to live in The Refuge’s women’s sober living facility in Boise, where they can enjoy structure, support, and sisterhood as they work toward living on their own.
