MILWAUKEE - Jan. 22, 2025 - PRLog -- In a world where young girls and young women may feel overlooked or forgotten, an upcoming evening in Milwaukee, WI is aiming to remind them how important and powerful they are.
On Sunday, January 26, 2025, motivational speaker/bestselling author and entrepreneur Chanelle Coleman Wesley and the She Said Yes to Herself Unapologetically platform will host the "She Planted. She Watered. She Bloomed: Get Up & Go Girl Youth Empowerment Event". This event was sparked by Homer Blow's powerful and provocative question 'What about the children?' Wesley hopes this will help answer that question in the city.
This will take place at The Oasis Lounge (3120 W. Villard Ave in Milwaukee, WI) beginning at 2pm This event is tailored to girls ages 10-17 (parents and guardians are welcome) and is meant to empower and inspire the next generation of young women by helping them set goals, build self-worth, and understand the importance of environmental justice. The event will also highlight the benefits of building community and becoming confident leaders.
Joining Wesley will be a group of dynamic speakers and inspirational powerhouses in their industries: Deraee' Henderson, Milicent Driver, Britney Draper, Kimberly Nelson, Ari Wells and Tatiyahna Lee.
'She Planted. She Watered. She Bloomed: Get Up & Go Girl Youth Empowerment Event" has the following components:
- Empowering talks on setting goals, faith, identity, self-confidence, resilience, and taking inspired action
- Breakout sessions on topics such as purpose, self-worth, mindset, resilience, identity, relationships, caring for your body, and environmental justice
- Interactive activities, including confidence-building exercises and planting seeds as a symbol of personal and community growth
- Fun games and a strong social media presence
Expect a special appearance by Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson. This event is free to attend, however, with only 150 tickets available registration is required. Visit www.shesaidyestoherself.com for all the details.
Doors open at 1pm. Lunch will be served. Businesses and individuals are invited to sponsor the event or donate hygiene products and other items for our swag bags. Volunteers are also welcome to assist with logistics and interactive activities.
