Mumbai, Maharashtra - October 30, 2023 - A commendable effort to promote environmental sustainability and raise awareness about the fragility of India's coastal ecosystems came to life as the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival (DPIFF) organized an ambitious Beach Clean-Up Drive Powered By Acer. The initiative, held on October 28, 2023, saw a heart-warming turnout of volunteers eager to roll up their sleeves and make a tangible impact on their local environment. The gathering witnessed participation of hundreds of NCC Cadets, Consulate General of Norway, Income Tax Commissioner (Greater Mumbai) and the team of UN Earth Champion Adv. Afroz Shah.
India's picturesque beaches, known not only for their breath-taking beauty but also their vital role in supporting marine and coastal life, are under increasing threat from pollution and human activity. With the global environmental crisis looming ever larger, DPIFF has emerged as a dedicated champion in the ongoing battle to safeguard these invaluable natural assets. Their commitment to environmental sustainability is exemplified through a series of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities that have consistently left a positive mark on the environment year after year.
The activity is Powered By Acer, the global tech giant. The collaboration symbolizes a unique collaboration of technology and cinema, combining their strengths to celebrate creativity and excellence in the world of film. The clean-up effort, supported by thousands of volunteers, successfully pulled out 14 tonnes of garbage from the area. DPIFF has an illustrious history of conducting successful clean-up drives for the past five years, with thousands of dedicated volunteers joining hands to make a substantial impact.
