Sage Dental Steps Up to Fight Blood Cancer with Light the Night Walks

The DSO joined the Light the Night walks at various locations throughout the southeastern U.S., supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

Sage Dental, a leading dental service organization (DSO) committed to providing consistent, high-quality care, as well as non-clinical business and administrative services to affiliated practices, has successfully completed the Light the Night walks project in support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). The initiative raised over $5,000 in donations, which will go directly to LLS to support vital blood cancer research and treatments. Sage Dental team captains played a key role in this success, working diligently to secure over 200 registered participants for the walks.

The Light the Night walks took place in Atlanta, Nashville, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, Miami, and Palm Beach, with each one offering a powerful and emotional experience for participants. The events began with an opening ceremony where cancer survivors shared inspiring stories, reminding everyone of the strength and courage required in the battle against blood cancer. Following the ceremony, participants walked together holding illuminated lanterns in three colors: white for survivors, yellow for those walking in memory of loved ones, and red for supporters.

“Coming together as a team to support such a powerful event in the fight against blood cancer was both gratifying and rewarding,” said Melissa Nehlen, Director of Operations at Sage Dental.

Director of Operations Linda Jachim, who led the winning team with the most walkers and funds raised, also added, “There is nothing more fulfilling than giving back to the community. Everyone has a story, and sometimes, listening to others helps ground us in ways we never expected. This was truly a first-class event, and I’m deeply grateful to all of our team members, friends, and family who came out to support the fight against blood cancer.”
