For the third consecutive year, Battelle will convene experts from government, private industry and academia in person to share technology breakthroughs and action plans to address the effects of climate change. The Innovations in Climate Resilience Conference, also known as ICR24, will be held April 22-24, 2024 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC. The theme of the conference is Solutions for Scaling Change which captures the urgency and growing need for impactful innovations at scale to meet the monumental task of addressing climate change.
The conference is organized and presented by Battelle, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy national lab technical program partners and the Wilson Center as a policy partner. The technical program includes an evening opening keynote and reception, a day and a half of technical presentations and panel discussions, an evening poster reception, and a closing reception. The technical program's themes are adaptation, mitigation, and sustainability. Focus areas include empowering action for rapid carbon neutrality, investing in climate resilient infrastructure, systems to fortify the future, advancing sustainability solutions for the next generation and more.
"Our goal for ICR24 is to drive toward those climate solutions that create large-scale change from Main Street to the nation and globally,” said Battelle Technical Fellow and ICR24 Chairman Justin Sanchez. “There are lots of choices when it comes to science and policy and we are working at ICR24 to identify those that make the biggest impact and change."
The Call for Abstracts is now open with the submission deadline December 11, 2023. Early bird registration closes February 16, 2024.
