NETE RECENT DEVELOPMENTS On January 30, 2002, we announced the following financial results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2001: Revenues were $19.1 million for the fourth quarter of 2001, a 14% increase over revenues of $16.7 million for the third quarter of 2001. Non cash software amortization charges were $153,000 and non-recurring acquired in-process research and development charges were $3.0 million. Including the after-tax effect of these charges, the reported net loss for the fourth quarter of 2001 was $(2.4) million or ($0.08) per diluted share. Revenues for the year ended December 31, 2001 were $86.6 million, a 60% increase over revenues of $54.0 million for the year ended December 31, 2000. Our SiteMinder products use cookies to support their single sign-on functionality. A cookie is information keyed to a specific user that is stored on the hard drive of the user's computer, typically without the user's knowledge. Cookies are generally removable by the user, and can be refused by the user at the point at which the information would be stored on the user's hard drive. A number of governmental bodies and commentators in the United States and abroad have urged passage of laws limiting or abolishing the use of cookies. The passage of laws limiting or abolishing the use of cookies, or the widespread deletion or refusal of cookies by web site users, could reduce or eliminate the effectiveness of SiteMinder's single sign-on functionality and could reduce market demand for our SiteMinder products. 3 WE MAY BE UNABLE TO HIRE AND RETAIN SKILLED PERSONNEL.
