Other Events
On October 15, 2009, Sterlite Industries (India) Limited (the “Company”) issued a press release to announce a 400,000 tpa brownfield copper smelter expansion project at Tuticorin in India, together with an associated 160 MW captive power plant, which is expected to be commissioned by mid-2011. A copy of the press release dated October 15, 2009 is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference.
