TELMEX REDUCES ITS LEVEL OF INDEBTEDNESS

Mexico City, November 16, 2010. Teléfonos de México, S.A.B. de C.V. (TELMEX) (BMV: TELMEX; NYSE: TMX; NASDAQ: TFONY; LATIBEX: XTMXL) announced today that as part of the strategy to reduce its debt, it made the prepayment of tranche B of the syndicated loan for the amount of 1.0 billion dollars, which was carried out on August 11, 2006, and whose original maturity was scheduled for October 20, 2011. Of this amount, TELMEX used $300 million dollars of its own resources and the rest was refinanced. With actions like these, TELMEX confirms its commitment to maintain a solid financial structure and comply with its contractual obligations.
