Young Producer’s Sport Passion Ignites A Media Company and Podcast Project

Sammy Cavallaro turned his “just-for-fun” Instagram account about sports into a full-fledged Media Company with a new podcast project, The Sick Podcast.

Kirkland, Canada - April 17, 2021 /PressCable/

Sammy Cavallaro is a young 21 year old college student who was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 2 back in 2001.

But a rare genetic disorder could not keep Sammy from falling in love with sports at the age of seven. With loving encouragement from his father, watching all sports soon became Sammy’s favorite thing to do.

In 2013, Sammy decided to turn his passion for sports into an Instagram account, @sickhighlights. Although he started this for fun, the account has now amassed over two million followers.

His passion was quickly turning into an opportunity to seize upon.

Sammy took the popularity of his first account and started his company Sick Media. Sick Media now has over seven accounts on different social media platforms resulting in four million followers.

His most recent project is The Sick Podcast.

Not only did Sammy define the odds in his personal life, but he has also created one of the strongest social media networks in the sports industry.

The Sick Podcast is a sports podcast hosted by one of North America’s biggest sports personalities, Tony Marinaro.

Tony’s love for sports also started very young. Some of his earliest memories are of hockey and soccer.

Growing up, he listened to sports radio shows religiously and was a regular caller. This turned into a passion to host a show himself.

As the host of The Sick Podcast, Tony is not afraid to call it as he sees it. He even asks the questions that others dare not ask. With this personality, he has created a loyal following and earned the respect of many in the industry.

Based in Canada, Tony and Sick Media are determined to bring the latest news, expertise, and sports interviews to the masses through this entertaining channel.

From talks of the NHL deadline trade to interviews with three-time NBA champions like Danny Green- no listener will leave unsatisfied.

The passion and excitement of sports comes through each and every episode just as Sammy dreamed it would.
