New Zealand Jobs In Demand Revealed For Expats

London, England -

PSS International Removals recently revealed the top 22 most in-demand occupations for skilled migrants and foreigners (including the full green list). The list serves as a useful resource for anyone looking to move to New Zealand, letting expats know exactly what skills to invest in to be seen as a valuable addition to the New Zealand skilled labour market.

Liam Witham, the CEO of PSS International Removals, says, “New Zealand's job market offers a world of opportunity for skilled migrants and foreigners. With the Green List simplifying the immigration process, those on the in-demand occupations list can fast-track their way to a successful career and a new life down under."

High-demand jobs for immigration in New Zealand have traditionally been broken up into the Long Term Skill Shortage List, the Regional Skill Shortage List and the Construction and Infrastructure Skill Shortage List. New Zealand’s immigration programme recently reopened following the Covid-19 pandemic, with a new list of professions that need individuals. New Zealand needs engineers and surveyors. In particular, Auckland calls for overseas workers with construction-related skills to come into the country and lend expertise to the city’s land development efforts. Those with experience in project managing, bricklaying and air conditioning mechanical could potentially find work in New Zealand.

ICT, electrical and telecommunications specialists are also in high demand. Many local businesses are searching for ICT and communications specialists to assist with web and software development, other electronics, and more. Agriculture and Forestry are two of the largest sectors in New Zealand, with livestock outnumbering the region’s human population. This means that there is a constant need for dairy and other farmers. Beekeepers, arborists, market gardeners, winemakers and vets are all welcome as skilled migrants to New Zealand with a median salary higher than many other jobs.

At the end is the green list, a summary of every job in high demand in New Zealand. Some jobs on the green list include acoustic engineer, anaesthetic technician and analyst programmer. These jobs provide a fast route to migration, provided the individual has the necessary skills.

New Zealand jobs in demand

Witham says "Making the decision to move to New Zealand and seeing that your skills are in demand is the easy part. The next step is finding a job, getting an employment offer and ensuring you have enough points for a successful visa application. This can be quite intimidating if you have never migrated to another country before. You need to research the various visa types and eligibility requirements and determine the most suitable visa for your needs. It is essential to gather all necessary documentation, complete the application forms accurately, and pay the appropriate fees."
