The charity aims to secure regular funding to meet the growing demand for food boxes, emergency shelter and psychosocial services in its Salaam Centre. Goodwill Caravan explains that its program also includes arts therapy for children and university scholarships for displaced students who have had to abandon their studies. The centre works with local educators and mental health professionals to tailor support and learning opportunities for all ages.
According to UNHCR, Egypt hosted over 260,000 Sudanese refugees by mid-2024, while more than 280,000 Palestinians crossed into the country after the Gaza conflict. Global forced displacement reached a record 112 million at the end of 2024, highlighting the severity of the humanitarian crisis.
By working closely with local partners, Goodwill Caravan’s initiative is designed to maintain steady food distribution and ensure safe shelter for vulnerable families. The emphasis on education and psychosocial care helps refugees regain stability and a sense of hope in the face of uncertainty.
