London Business Journal - Appoints Mike Southon as Editor-at-Large

London, UK – July 31, 2024 – The London Business Journal is thrilled to announce the appointment of Mike Southon as its new Editor-at-Large. Mike Southon, renowned for his entrepreneurial acumen and best-selling business books, brings a wealth of experience and insight to the publication.

Mike Southon, also known as “The Beermat Entrepreneur,” has a distinguished career as a serial entrepreneur, business author, and keynote speaker. He has co-authored several influential books, including The Beermat Entrepreneur, The Boardroom Entrepreneur, and Sales on a Beermat. His extensive experience in mentoring over 1,000 entrepreneurs and speaking at more than 1,000 live events globally positions him uniquely to contribute to the London Business Journal.

Beyond being an author and mentor, Mike is no slouch as a journalist too with four years, writing a weekly opinion column 'My Business' in the weekend edition of The Financial Times, a total of more than 200 columns.

This column featured entrepreneurs from his network, including Stephen Fry, John Lloyd (Qi, Blackadder etc*.) to name a few..

Mike also wrote opinion columns on how banks (then) were, and why government should do as little as possible, and get out of the way of entrepreneurs, who actually generate wealth (very relevant in the current water fiasco).

In his new role, Mike will focus on profiling business leaders and entrepreneurs, providing thought leadership columns, and offering strategic insights that will enhance London Business Journal’s content and reach. His deep understanding of entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship, and sales will be invaluable in delivering high-quality, relevant content to the Journal’s readership.

“We are excited to welcome Mike Southon to our team,” said Ronnie Ajoku Founder and Publisher of the London Business Journal. “Mike’s expertise and innovative approach will undoubtedly elevate our publication, providing our readers with unparalleled insights and inspiration.”

Mike Southon expressed his enthusiasm about joining the London Business Journal: “I am delighted to take on this new role and look forward to contributing to a publication that is at the forefront of business journalism. I aim to bring fresh perspectives and valuable content that will resonate with our readers and support their business endeavors.”
