The Dominican Republic, one of the most popular destinations in the Caribbean, boasting more than 11 million annual visitors, is celebrating the success of its third annual trade show in Miami, which took place on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. The event, which has become the Dominican Republic’s most consequential international marketing event, was led by the Minister of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, David Collado. The trade show began with an opening ceremony and ribbon cutting at the JW Marriott Marquis in Miami, bringing together more than 600 industry professionals, including travel agents, tour operators, airlines and international media representatives.

The Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism kicked off the 2025 Trade Show with an exclusive welcome reception at the Alfred I. DuPont Building in Miami on the evening of Tuesday, April 1, where special guests ranged from international investors to specialized media and the most influential tour operators in the luxury segment. Minister Collado highlighted the importance of the sector as a key driver of economic diversification and sustainable development, positioning the country as the leading luxury tourism destination in the Caribbean. Prestigious agencies and operators specializing in luxury tourism, including Aura Travel, BBVA Mexico, Bueno Travel, Classic Vacations and Continental Travel Group attended the event.

As a key platform for expanding and strengthening the country’s tourism sector, this year’s event exceeded expectations, featuring 90 co-exhibitors and more than 1,500 confirmed meetings, setting the foundation for unprecedented economic impact. Agreements signed during the event are expected to bring over 500,000 additional tourists to the country, generating $1.3 billion in economic investment for the hotel industry and creating more than 33,000 direct and indirect jobs.

Attendees participated in networking events and one-on-one meetings with top tourism brands and stakeholders, sat in on presentations announcing new investment projects, learned about new air routes, joined informational sessions on various tourism niches and enjoyed tastings of authentic dishes, as well as some of the country’s most iconic products, including rum, coffee and tobacco. The Ministry of Tourism also celebrated the launch of burgeoning destinations, major developments and new hotels throughout the country, including in Miches, Punta Bergantín, Samaná, Santo Domingo and Santiago.
