Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. (FCX) issued a press release dated February 2, 2005, announcing today that its Board of Directors has authorized a supplemental common stock dividend of $0.50 per share to be paid on March 31, 2005 to shareholders of record as of March 15, 2005 (see exhibit 99.1).
