On July 5, 2009, Bemis Company, Inc. issued a press release, a copy of which is furnished as Exhibit 99 to this report, to announce that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the Food Americas operations of Alcan Packaging, a business unit of international mining group Rio Tinto plc (LON: RIO; ASX: RIO), for $1.2 billion.  Additional information is included with this press release and will be further discussed during a live conference call and webcast scheduled for Monday, July 6, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. (EDT).
